The Lower Mountain Skills Park is just minutes from Summer Meltdown – biking distance, in fact! This massive new Mountain Bike Park is a world-class mountain bike trail system that accommodates riders of any level! The views from this park are insane.
Bring your bike and take advantage of the park. Stop in Arlington at Velo Sports and tune up your bike for the weekend – they also have the best tips on which trails to hit from Meltdown.
The Lower Mountain Skills Park is great for all ages. It features 5 miles of cross country and freeride trails for beginners through expert riders. There’s plenty more epic riding in if you’re looking for the heady stuff.
Hike Around Whitehorse Mountain
Staring at the stunning Whitehorse Mountain all day from the venue is awesome, but have you ever wondered what it’s like to be on the mountain? It’s just a couple mile drive and mellow 4 mile hike or jog up a gorgeous winding trail to an old mining cave that sits below the waterfalls. From the mining cave, climb up a little further to stand under ice-cold glacier waterfalls cascading down the mountain. Here’s Summer Meltdown Co-Producer Genevieve Hayton up there in a colder season!
Like to rock climb? Bring your gear and spend a day at Three O’ Clock Rock, a local favorite.
What about a Beerventure?
Because taste buds like to get out in the wild, too! While you can sip on endless tasty craft beer at the festival, you can also stop in the town of Darrington to try the incredible beer at River Time Brewing. This place is rad and so are the people who run it. They have turned the old Town Hall into a gorgeous brewery! It’s free to enter, but you gotta pay for the beer. Stop by after one of your other adventures and tell em Josh sent ya.
